Lead Automation and Controls Engineer, Silicon Technology (Starlink)

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

LEAD AUTOMATION AND CONTROLS ENGINEER, SILICON TECHNOLOGY (STARLINK)

SpaceX is leveraging its experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer receivers that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact. As we continue to upgrade and expand the constellation, we’re looking for best-in-class engineers and leaders to join the team.

In true SpaceX fashion, Starlink is taking the next step in vertical integration by bringing advanced silicon packaging and assembly in-house for development and manufacturing. We are looking for a hands-on, creative, and driven Lead Automation and Controls Engineer to spearhead the automation for our internal advanced silicon packaging lines. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for architecting and scaling the automation systems that allow for meaningful reduction of both user terminal cost and risk of global supply chain calamities limiting production capability of Starlink. Engineers on this team are curious, love to learn new things, and work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs as we strive to deliver high-impact technology on a massive scale.
