Electrical Test Engineer

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Electrical Test Engineer to join our Manufacturing organization in Santa Ana, California. In this role, you will design and build complex test systems and PCBA platforms that ensure our products meet stringent quality standards before shipping to customers. You will own full-cycle PCB design for test hardware — from requirements capture and schematic design through component selection, layout, bring-up, debug, and integration with production test environments.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design circuits and schematics for test automation platforms, including FPGA-based data acquisition boards, MCU data interfaces, breakout boards, wiring harnesses, and peripheral modules.
• Own full-cycle PCB design for test hardware — collecting requirements, capturing schematics, selecting components, supervising or completing layout, and driving designs through fabrication and assembly.
• Architect and source circuit board test fixtures, integrating custom designs with internally developed and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment.
• Bring up, debug, and characterize circuits across low-speed interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN) and high-speed signals (RF, memory, USB).
• Apply DFT best practices to new products, to enable comprehensive tester design
• Work with firmware engineers to enable board support packages for embedded Linux and bring up MCU RTOS platforms.
• Integrate designs into configuration management systems, using proper control and release processes.
• Continuously improve test automation methods, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields OR 6+ years of advanced knowledge acquired through work experience and/or intellectual instruction in lieu of degree
• 4+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware design with emphasis on products that have gone to manufacturing.
• Expertise in PCBA design — ability to design and fabricate your own boards or guide contract manufacturing resources.
• Full understanding of PCB layout techniques to meet mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing requirements.
• Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent E-CAD tools for schematic capture and layout.
• Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, and common MCU/FPGA devices.
• Familiarity with electronics test equipment including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition sensors.
• Familiar with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems and releasing designs for production.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with FPGA PCBA platforms — RTL, design synthesis, and bare-metal coding.
• Experience with Python scripting for test configuration and automation.
• Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
