Within the quick response center, work from blue prints, fabrication outlines, sketches, and manufacturing work instructions.
Duties include making complete setups of milling machines by positioning and locating work piece.
Select, mount, align, and adjust cutting tools.
Set feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts.
Load machine control media or information from Numerical Control (N/C) or Manual Data Input, (MDI) data sheets, check and make required control settings, align spindle to setup points, and place machine in automatic cycle when required.
Perform, prove, on Numerical Control (N/C) media and first run parts involving exacting tolerances. Perform MDI, N/C, and conventional machining holding exacting machine operation tolerances when machining compound angles using special holding fixtures.

Operate lathes using Manual Data Input, (MDI) controllers, Numerical Control (N/C) preprogrammed instruction media, and conventional methods to perform such typical exacting tolerance machining operations as turning, facing, drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, grooving, forming, chamfering, thread cutting, or chasing using taps and dies, machining inside and outside tapers and diameters; turning irregular contours and intricate details.
Cut straight or tapered single lead thread by use of single point cutting tool.
Machine single angles and radii to exacting tolerances, operate and set-up jig bore machines.
